Grüner Veltliner is still considered the signature grape variety of Austria. Especially here in the Weinviertel, it shapes a distinctive regional style that was officially recognized in 2002 with the creation of the Weinviertel DAC. Its fruity and slightly spicy character gives rise to wines with a truly unique aroma profile. In the vineyard, Grüner Veltliner thrives on sites with somewhat richer soils, which produce particularly juicy and expressive wines.
